Browsing Messages


By either double clicking the queue view of queues or brining up the popup-menu, the message contents of a queue can be browsed.

The following dialog is displayed which contains a listing of the properties of the first 200 messages on the queue.

The details of a particular message are shown in a separate dialog when either:

By selecting the different tabs of the message properties, different attributes of the message may be displayed including the first 200 bytes of data contents of the message itself.

Additionally, on the data tab, if the MQSeries message format is MQFMT_STRING, then the data may be displayed in text and as parsed XML.

The message display is sensitive to the MQSeries format of message being browsed.  For certain formats, additional information may be displayed in additional tabs.  The formats currently supported include:

Saving an individual message

By right clicking on a message, an option called "Save to File" is presented.  From here, the contents of the whole message may be written to disk as in a file of specifiable name:

The columns in the list of messages associated with the queue may be modified by pressing the columns button.  This will invoke the column selection tool.  For more details see:
