MQJExplorer Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Why does MQJExplorer expire?

A: MQJExplorer currently has an internal expiration date.  After this date, this copy of MQJExplorer will cease to execute.  The reason for this restriction is that this is still a project in beta and construction.  New features and bug fixes are being applied regularly.  It is not desired for beta revisions to become widely available and this was deemed the best method for ensuring that did not happen.

Q: What version of MQJExplorer do I currently have?

A: By running MQJExplorer and selecting Help then About from the main menu bar, the version information is displayed in a dialog box.

Q: Where do I send bug or requirement e-mails?

A: Currently, bug reports and function enhancement requirements can be sent to Neil Kolban (kolban@kolban.com)

Q: Why do I see errors such as "Unable to load MQJ.DAT" on the Java console?

A: The Java console is currently displayed for debugging purposes.  Many messages are displayed, which on the surface, look like errors but are expected or may safely be ignore.

Q: Will MQJExplorer work with the beta JRE 1.4?

A: MQJExplorer has been tested with JRE 1.2.2 and above.  No testing has been performed with JRE 1.4 betas at this time.  Reports from users who have tried it tell of GUI related problems.
